An Essay on "The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde"

In "The Strange Case of Dr.Jeckyll and Mr.Hyde", written by Robert Louis Stevenson, a man called Henry Jekyll had the idea to separate his good and bad side. For this, he created a potion but the results were not the expected. After creating the potion Mr.Hyde appeared and Henry Jekyll was not only Dr.Jekyll, he was also Mr.Hyde. He could not control his bad side, he should find a way or many people would be damaged. The author showed that everyone has a bad and good side as in this case Mr.Hyde and Dr.Jekyll.

Throughout the book, Dr.Jekyll was well known in London city. He was very smart, elegant and respected by everyone. Also, he was a scientist. When he created the potion he never thought the problems that would bring to him. Dr.Jekyll regreted making the potion, his bad side was not something he could control any longer. That bad side was called Mr.Hyde, he made disasters all over the city. The scientist Dr.Jekyll suffered the situation, friends from him were damaged by his own bad side and he could not do anything. No one should know his secret, if not he would be in serious problems. "I made this choice perhaps with some unconscious reservation", Dr.Jekyll said.

Mr.Hyde, on the other hand, did not feel anything that was not hatred. After doing his bad acts he was acting as nothing happened. He never regreted anything. He also took Dr.Jekyll's body at any time of the day. The evil creature made disasters all over London. Dr.Jekyll's friends, places, houses and a lot of people was suffering Mr.Hyde's crazy acts. People started searching for him but he was good and made it difficult. Mr.Hyde was full of hatred. The strange monster maybe did not realize what was he doing, he was made to be evil and the opposite from good. "The look of him, even in the distance, went somehow strongly against the watcher's inclination", the narrator said.

In "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde", the author showed that everyone has a bad and good side as in this case Mr.Hyde and Dr.Jekyll.They were the opposite. Things did not finish as Dr.Jekyll expected, probably he had to be more careful at the time of making the potion. Reading this book made me realized we have to be careful when we do such complex things.

Believe

This film is a biography from the singer Justin Bieber. It shows all his tour called "Believe" which started in 2012 and finished in 2013. He visits many countries that appear in the fil such as Paris, New York, London, etc. The director is Jon M.Chu. He also did Justin's first film "Never say Never". 

Justin's family also appear in the film. His dad who is called Jeremy and his mother called Patricia. In the film, Justin talks about how bad he feels when journalists tell lies about him and people believe them. All the film is based on him and the problems he had during the tour. But not everything is bad he also talks about how happy he feels with the support of his fans called "beliebers". Justin's friends appear in the film, as well as his manager, vocalist and many other people who work with Justin. They talk very good about him and they are proud of his work during the tour. 

I really liked the film because it shows the internal feelings of the singer. It is funny to watch, you can't get bored. All the adventures he had during the tour are also another reason to laugh and enjoy the film.

I recommend the film not only to Justin's fans to everyone who like music. It's very intresting the preparation from the tour and which difficulties artists go throw in tours. I recommend it.

Sabrina, the miracle

We were asked to write a story about any topic. But we should finish our storys with the phrase "that was the last time they ever saw them". We made drafts and correct our mistakes. This is my result:

Sabrina, the miracle

There was a boy who was called Patrick. He didn't have many friends, he was very intelligent and he did very well at school. He wasn't the kind of boys girls fall in love with. His face was probably the ugliest from the school. This wasn't easy for him. There was also a group of boys who always bothered Patrick. They bothered him just because he was the weakest person, probably in the world. Every afternoon finishing classes there was a horrible moment for Patrick. This situation made Patrick's parents worry. He always arrived home with terrible bruises. The bullies were every day stronger and bigger. A morning before going to school, Patrick's mother found his son crying on his bed. "Why are you crying baby?" She asked. "I'm sick and tired bullies kick me every single day just because I'm not like the others, I can't handle this anymore!" Patrick replied. His mother went out from the room and called the school on the phone. They never aswered, it wasn't an organized school. His mother made the decision Patrick won't go to school that day. The next morning, Patrick woke up and went to school. When he arrived at the classroom he saw a new face... It was a new classmate! She was a girl and her name was Sabrina. Patrick and Sabrina shared homework and had a lot of talking together that day. They had a lot in common. The class had finished and it was time to go home. The bullies kicked Patrick as always, this time Sabrina was watching from the back of a tree. The next day in class Sabrina told Patrick "Why did you let those stupid boys kick you yesterday?" "They are better than me, I can't do anything." Patrick answered sadly." Maybe I can..." Sabrina said and went to her desk to keep on working. That afternoon the bullies looked for Patrick like every day. But this time he wasn't alone, he was with Sabrina. The bullies didn't even care. When they were about to kick Patrick... Sabrina jumped over the bullies and hit his entire body with her small hands. Even though Sabrina was a girl she knew how to defend herself and her friends. Patrick was shocked, his eyes couldn't believe what was happening. The next of the week Sabrina returned home with Patrick after school. The bullies after the conflict didn't appear in places Patrick and Sabrina were. That was the last time they ever saw them.

En clase estuvimos trabajando con la tabla periódica. Tuvimos que elegir uno de los elementos, investigar sobre el mismo para luego trabajarlo en una presentación.

TP Edad Media

En la clase de Historia estuvimos trabajando sobre la Edad Media. La Edad Media es un periodo que comenzó en año 476 con la caída del Imperio romano de Occidente y finalizó en  1453 con la caída del Imperio Bizantino. Una de las principales características de esta época fueron los feudos. En base a esta importante característica realizamos un trabajo práctico que consistió en buscar datos históricos sobre un feudo en particular, y en base a él desarrollamos las diferentes consignas dadas. Esta es la primera parte.

Localización del feudo:

Nuestro señorío se encuentra en Vizcaya. Vizcaya es una provincia de España y un territorio histórico de la comunidad autónoma del País Vasco, heredero del antiguo señorío de Vizcaya. Su capital es Bilbao.

Feudo:

Escudo: 

Este es el escudo del señorío de Vizcaya que nosotros diseñamos. Cada símbolo tiene un significado diferente. Esos significados se relacionan con los diferentes valores que representan a nuestro señorío. A su vez los colores también forman parte de los valores del mismo.

Los colores: 

El dorado significa generosidad; mientras que el blanco o plateado significa la paz y la sinceridad; en tanto que el rojo significa guerrero, fortaleza y la magnanimidad; finalmente el azul significa la verdad y la lealtad.

Generosidad/Magnanimidad: Porque en este feudo tanto los señores feudales como los vasallos trabajaban juntos por el bienestar de todos.

Paz: Si bien se supone que los señores feudales amaban la guerra, en este feudo siempre se tendía a conservar la paz.

Sinceridad/Verdad: La mentira era uno de los delitos más castigados en estas tierras.

Guerrero: Tanto para proteger la paz como la tierra y a sus habitantes, siempre estaban dispuestos a luchar.

Fortaleza: Física y espiritual para trasmitir valores del feudo.

Lealtad/Fidelidad: A los señores feudales, a los vasallos, a las tierras y a Cristo estaban dispuestos a entregar sus vidas.

Los símbolos: 

Los anillos simbolizan la fidelidad; en tanto que las flores de lirio simbolizan la pureza; mientras que leones simbolizan el coraje impávido; finalmente las cruces simbolizan a Cristo y el cristianismo.

Pureza: De espíritu, gente simple viviendo simplemente.

Coraje: Audacia sin límite para defender sus creencias.

Cristo y Cristianismo: La religión profesada por todos sus habitantes.

Diary Entry

In L/L writing we wrote two letters doing Dr.Jeckyll`s role. The first one had to be when Jekyll have just created the potion. And the second one  when Jekyll had recently used it for the first time. We did many drafts to correct our mistakes. This are my letters:



July 16, 1889

Today is a beautiful day! I've just created my potion. Seriously, it was one of the most difficult potions I have ever created. I am afraid to use it right now, so I will wait till tomorrow. But I am so happy! I can't believe I have finished this potion. I hope nobody knows about it because it's not a normal potion, this one is dangerous. It transforms to the one who will drink it into all his or her worst bad side. You can be from the prettiest person to the ugliest. And this makes me feel scared but I will drink it anyway. Probably, if I tell this to someone it will be to Utterson, but I should think about it. This potion was made with all my effort, I hope it works right. It's so crazy how with one potion I can separate two parts of me and rebel one of them. This will be a secret between the laboratory and me. Maybe now I should go to the park and take some fresh air.

July 17, 1889

I used the potion and I have to confess it wasn't as I thought it was going to be. I mean, my bad side went out, but I killed some people and made disasters I wasn't expecting to make. I couldn't control myself. I am afraid that people are searching for me. Next time I use the potion, I have to be careful. If someone discovers me I will be in serious problems. I don't know how to feel. I feel happy because in a way my potion worked well. But I feel also sad because of the disasters I have and I probably will continue doing the next time I drink the potion. I will try to control myself but I'm not sure if I can. Of course, nobody will know this I will try not to be suspicious. I will drink the potion again tomorrow to see what happens. Poole can have doubts about why I spend too much time in my laboratory, I have to be careful with him.

Video Poesia

Visitamos el MACBA, el museo de arte contemporaneo de Buenos Aires, y observamos algunas obras. Luego, en clase, elejimos una de ellas e investigamos sobre mas obras del mismo artista. Elejimos cuatro de ellas y creamos una poesia la cual grabamos y editamos en un video. Trabaje con Azarias Bustos y Valentina Muguelar.

Believe

“Believe” it`s a film based on the life of the famous singer Justin Bieber. Previously, the singer had another film called “Never say Never” in which he shows in detail how he becomes who is he now. But in “Believe” you listen and go with him through his tour also called Believe. You enter into his personal thoughts, feelings, everything.

Justin`s family also appear in the film. He has a brother and a sister, they are very lovely. His father is called Jeremy and his mother Patricia. Justin made lot of new friends in his career, but he never forgets about his friends from his childhood. Ryan is one of them. Both types of friends participate in the film.

In conclusion, the film shows everything around Justin`s tour. It revels lot of things, bad things, people said about him that were not true. That was what many people loved about the film. They went to their houses with the true story.

Patent Laws

 A Patent, is an exclusive right to use inventions for periods of time. It’s beneficial for economy to have the Patent Laws. Each country designed laws to protect inventions.
Patents Laws two different systems. The first-to-file and the first-to invent. Most countries adapted the firs-to-file system.

Countries employ different Patent Laws. One of them is Patent Ownership that is not recognized in the whole world. Because it brings economic consequences.

 International economic problems have been boosting. Patent ownership started to be recognized in other countries.

The conflict in Patents applied for WIPO (World Intellectual Properties Organization). WIPO maintains that the first step involves to oblige the United States to reexamine its patent principle, taking into account the reality of a global economy.

 This impulse may be a good result in more global economic cooperation.

Ethical Shopping

We should know what we really buy in supermarkets or shops. Britain people have doubts about how people produce the clothes and food. Fairtrade is in 58 countries, based in the UK and helps poor farmers and workers to live better. They ask companies to give workers good conditions, and then they can sell products with a label that says fair trade. Some of the products are coffee, tea and bananas. Farm animals are outside instead of inside all day. The products are: meat, eggs or dairy products. This system is less cruel and the animals are healthier. The food tastes better and is more nutritious, also no chemical fertilizers and pesticides are used. Organic food is more expensive but it is very popular in the UK. Fashion is a business. Some manufacturers were accused of employing children and not providing safe conditions for the workers. Many companies started to give money to pay for factory inspections to improve workers conditions. Nowadays people say ‘vintage’ or ‘pre-loved’ to used clothes and they are popular in the UK. Celebrities are big fans of vintage clothes. Another way to recycle is to adapt the clothes you have. With the help of organizations, shoppers can make more choices.

Je parle de moi

Je m' appelle Sophie, j' ai treize ans, je suis étudiante, j' habite à Adrogue, rue Castelli, avec ma mère et mon père. Je n' ai pas d' animal. Mon anniversaire, c' est le 12 octobre.

J' aime le cinéma, j' adore le sport surtout le hockey. Je déteste le patinage sur glace, aussi étudier. J' aime manger. 

Je suis franche, aussi sympathique et un peu bavarde. Je ne suis pas travailleuse. Je suis sensible et sincère. Je ne suis pas patiente. Je suis grande. Je mesure 1 mètre 58. J' ai mes yeux marron. J' ai mes cheveux mi-longs et châtains. Je ne porte pas de lunettes.

Punta Cana

We worked with a place we choosed. In class, we made a description separated in five paragraphs. I choosed Punta Cana, here is my description: 

Punta Cana is on the east coast of Dominican Republic. Their language is spanish. It's a small country so there isn't a relaxed environment. Rains are very common in Punta Cana.

This country is a good place to forget about your problems. It's nice to relax and take a time for you. People in Punta Cana are very sweet. Food is tasty, fruits and vegetables are the first option for people who live there. 

However, sometimes It's too hot. There are lot of seaweeds in the ocean. It's a poor country, there is insecurity. A bad notice for children is that in the ocean there are no waves. Going to the beach is boring for children. 

Also, you can see a variety of palmtrees, calm and clear water, white sand, and a lot of alcohol and food. There are many guided tours to islands. Going fishing isn't a bad idea.

In conclusion, Punta Cana is the perfect place to go on holidays. You will enjoy your visit. I went there, so I recommend it. It's a beautiful place, don't miss the opportunity to visit Punta Cana.

MACBA

Trabaje con Mia Rinaldi, Lautaro Severina y Feberico berro. Construimos la frase "La conexion entre colores genera diversion a travez de la cercania". 

El estado gaseoso

Realizamos un Glogster en clase, sobre el estado que elijieramos analizar. Yo eleji el estado gaseoso.

Historia

Lo primero que tuvimos que hacer para poder realizar este trabajo fue observar el dibujo de "Figuras Geometricas" de el compañero que quisieramos y elaborar una historia basada en aquel dibujo. Yo eleji el dibujo de Tomas Paladino. Mi historia, en resumen, cuenta sobre un niño que pierde un juego de play y no pudo mas que soñar en los controles del juego.

Figuras Geometricas

Para realizar este trabajo tuvimos que elejir una de las palabras del caligrama trabajado y representarla en un dibujo utilizando figuras geometricas y lapices de colores. En mi caso eleji la palabra "equipo".
